Everyone can recall the feeling they experienced when they heard a band that they knew were something special. For those who love hundreds of bands, only a select few of them are the ones that capture something special. Well Bellusira are that special something.
Bellusira come from the city that never disappoints when it comes to music, none other than Melbourne. They released their latest EP, ‘Enigmatic’, back in 2009. To put it simply they are a rock band with a female vocalist. Which will automatically ignite comparisons to the likes of Evanescence and Australia’s own Killing Heidi. Just like how those two bands are different in many ways, Bellusira is as well. ‘One Second’ has everything people love in rock songs, guitar hooks that make your head bang, truly beautiful vocals that soar round the room the listener is in and an inspiring chorus that ensures the listener will make sure they will not forget who this band is. It is a true crime that this song did not get blasted through Australia’s radio and television. Third song, ‘Nobody’, is a glimpse of their more aggressive side, while vocalist Crystal Ignite shows that she is more than capable of taking control of a range of rock songs. It is on the second last song ‘Take’ that Bellusira show they are more than able to create a soft song full of a vast amount of beauty and emotion. Then you get hit with the full on assault of ‘Change’ with guest vocalist Ezekiel Ox (Full Scale). This is a band who are making it very hard for the Australian public to ignore them for much longer.
Bellusira are a band that are more than they appear. It is only a matter of time till they become a band everyone knows about. ‘Enigmatic’ is an EP that is truly beautiful and will go down as one of Australia’s best. The anticipation for their full length is at a height that few bands reach.
