Buried In Verona – Saturday Night Sever

For Fans Of: Heaven Shall Burn, In Flames, I Killed The Prom Queen.

Buried In Verona is probably a name few have heard before. Well they are a band from Sydney that have recently released their second album, ‘Saturday Night Sever’. Which was recorded in Sweden and produced by Fredrik Nordstorm (Bring Me The Horizon, Dimmu Borgir, In Flames, Soilwork). Curious now?

Saturday Night Sever’ immediately grabs the music fan’s attention when they receive a glimpse of the album artwork. Buried In Verona have hired the talents of Ken Racho from kensukecreations, who has also created artwork for Avenged Sevenfold, As Blood Runs Black, Bullet For My Valentine, New Found Glory, the list goes on. Then add the titles of songs such as ‘Hangin’ Hoes By Their Toes’ and ‘Go Go Gadget Suicide’, and the attention and curiosity levels are at an all time high by this stage. Once the fan has listened to the album, they will realize one thing, Buried In Verona are levels above bands from Australia and the rest of the world. Their music sounds like Heaven Shall Burn and I Killed The Prom Queen had a ferocious battle and the audience who were watching were Buried In Verona. The second track ‘Temptress’ has a chorus that is left ringing in the listener’s ears for days. A few songs later and the listener will hear five simple words “Your Face Looks Better Bleeding”, this lyric will challenge others such as “So cry me a fucking, bitch,” and “Yippie-ki-yay motherfucker” from Parkway Drive as Australian metals most brutal. That lyric’s home is in ‘Hangin’ Hoes By Their Toes’. They end the album with a change of pace to what the listener has become used to. ‘The Beginning’ emits so much emotion that enables fans to connect with the band on a higher level. But it not just on the last song, it is throughout the whole album that Buried In Verona are able to express their emotions so perfectly that the listener can not help but succumb to the music.

Buried In Verona have created an album far beyond any expectations. ‘Saturday Night Sever’ is an album that fans from Australia will be shocked to hear for the first time, reason being is because they will be confused as to why they have not heard this band before. This band deserves to share the stage with premier Australian metal band Parkway Drive.
