Parkway Drive have built themselves into the biggest heavy band Australia has ever seen and probably ever will. With only an EP and two albums, they have accomplished more than 99% of bands do in their entire career. So with their brand new album, ‘Deep Blue’, the whole world not just Australia are listening to what they have delivered this time round.

Unrest’ and ‘Sleepwalker’ are two of their best songs they have ever created. ‘Unrest’ captures them at their most damaging and ‘Sleepwalker’ is them at their catchiest. Fans first heard the lyric ‘Sinking Always Sinking’ on ‘Horizons’ and it quickly became a lyric that is recognised everywhere as soon as you hear someone say it as a Parkway Drive lyric. Fans will be happy to find out it makes an appearance on ‘Deliver Me’. Another surprise that true fans will pick is the track ‘Hollow’, it might sound familiar. ‘Home Is For The Heartless’, features Brett Gurewitz from Bad Religion and for a pairing so unlikely the small part Brett has fits perfectly. It is a song that will become a highlight of their live set. ‘Deep Blue’ features songs that could be on any of their previous releases. With every release they make natural progressions and advance higher from any other band playing heavy music.

Deep Blue’ shows no signs of Parkway Drive taking their hands from around our throats. Deciding to work with Joe Barresi (Queens Of The Stone Age, Bad Religion) and step out of their comfort zone, shows their willingness to provide us with the best music they can possibly create. A band that will live on forever in Australian music history.
