For Fans Of: New Found Glory, Blink 182, Millencolin.
Skyway hail from the Gold Coast and are leading the way for pop punk bands. Having only formed back in 2008 they are already up to their third release, ‘Nauseating Suburbia’. They are even offering it to whoever wants to download it for free at http://www.skywaypoppunk.com/, what other reason do you need to check them out.
‘Nauseating Suburbia’ contains three original songs and a cover of the classic Tracy Chapman song ‘Fast Car’. The intro track to the EP contains the fun loving attitude the band omits. First song ‘…And Your Toe-Tag will Read Sellout’, is fast, fun and a song to put it plain and simple enjoyable to listen to. Skyway have a sound that is a mix between pop punk heroes New Found Glory and early Blink 182. Vocalist Dan McMaster sounds like the Australian version of Jordan Pundik (New Found Glory). Then there is the second song, ‘Bright Eyes Never Die!’, and it is only a matter of time till it becomes Australia’s pop punk anthem. The best cover songs are the ones that make the fan think, “Why the hell are they covering that song”. Skyway do exactly that with their cover of Tracy Chapman’s ‘Fast Car’ or as they call it ‘Back In The 80’s, This Song Ruled’, definitely joins the list of great covers. ‘Nauseating Suburbia’ is a release packed full of refreshing energy from a young band full of promise.

Skyway have already opened up for the likes of No Fun At All, Frenzal Rhomb, House Vs. Hurricane and The Amity Affliction. By literally giving their hard work away, it proves that this band is creating music for all the right reasons. So do not waste anymore time and go download a copy now.
