For Fans Of: Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, Unearth.
Torn Asunder first came onto the scene in 2007 with their debut effort, ‘The Unleashing’. Appealing to both metal and hardcore fans, Torn Asunder deliver heavy music at its finest. Back with their second release titled ‘The Catacomb Silence’, can they take the next step up?
The release of their second album was either going to make or break them. Well ‘The Catacomb Silence’ displays them polish their sound and naturally mature as musicians. Third song on their new release, ‘Unheard’, witnesses them capture the same heart wrenching emotion and aggressive heaviness that of early Killswitch Engage. Vocalist Lachlan Paul is up there with the best vocalists in the country. His ability to scream with the best and sing so heavenly are to be admired. ‘Trapped (In A Place You Never Thought You Would Be)’ will have you singing along and banging your head like it is the last time you will be able to. Guitarists Brenden James Dean and Kyel Dancey are developing to be a pair to be reckoned with. ‘The Catacomb Silence’ is above and beyond what you expect to be released from a band as small as Torn Asunder.
Torn Asunder have advanced in every positive direction with ‘The Catacomb Silence’. They have proven they are not going to waste anyone’s time and money. To be able to hold your head up high in the Australian metal scene is a feet not many can reach these days. They deserve to play alongside the best Australia has to offer.
