The new supergroup for Queensland and Australia is Electric Horse. Featuring members from Sunk Loto, Lump and King Mungi. They have been keeping themselves busy by recording their debut EP, ‘Translations’, at Loose Stones Studios. The question is are they a Rock Star Supernova or Velvet Revolver?

‘Beautiful melodies from Sunk Loto with the hard-hitting rock of Lump’

Sunk Loto fans will breathe a sigh of relief when they hear Jason Brown’s voice backed up by his brother Dane Brown’s drumming, blasting out their stereos once again. This time round they are accompanied by Scott Jackman (Lump), Luke Attrill (Lump) and Corey Absell (King Mungi).

‘Something To Believe’ is the first of the six songs on the EP and is the first out of the six times the listener experiences the realization that this band is already a force to be reckoned with. There is always one standout song and ‘They Say’ is a straight up rock tune that will have the masses singing along and wonder why they ever listened to MGMT. Electric Horse play their music loud, hard, fast and to perfection. They capture the beautiful melodies from Sunk Loto with the hard-hitting rock of Lump. ‘Translations’ ends with the longest song and the most impressive song, ‘Seventh Sun’, which is a song that progressive kings Karnivool would respect.

‘The new supergroup for Queensland and Australia’

Electric Horse has the potential and sound to achieve greater levels of success than what Sunk Loto, Lump and King Mungi ever reached. The Gold Coast is home to some of Australia’s most talented and promising bands, such as Mourning Tide, Promises and now Electric Horse. ‘Translations’ is a CD not to be left unheard. Definitely not a Rock Star Supernova.

Recommended Song ‘They Say’

For Fans Of: Between The Buried And Me, All Shall Perish.

http://www.myspace.com/dawnofretribution

‘The Plan To End Humanity’ is the debut album from Geelong band Dawn Of Retribution. There are three aspects that initially grab the attention of any metal fan when they come across this album. They are the artwork (which is one of the best covers in Australian metal history), the album name and the band name (so much brutality they can’t be ignored). But all that means nothing if the music is awful.

‘Australian metal just keeps getting better and this album is proof’

‘Ascension Of The Shadow’ ensures the listener knows exactly what they are in store for, heavy, fast, technical metal music. The dual onslaught of guitarists Bennett Dunstan and Chris McEwin on tracks ‘Day Zero’ and ‘Minutes Of The Millennia’ has the listener captivated and unable to control their head from banging around. Dawn Of Retribution have self produced this, their debut effort, which just shows how much self-belief and guts they already have. One of the best qualities of this album is that the band was able to capture their raw sound in the studio, something that a lot of bands strive for but never accomplish. This is a band that other musicians should be taking notes from. ‘The Plan To End Humanity’ does not stop its annihilation until the very last second of the last song. There is something for every metal fan on this album. Australian metal just keeps getting better and this album is proof.

‘Something for every metal fan’

Dawn Of Retribution are able to hold their guitars, drum sticks, bass’s and microphones high after delivering a debut album that very few bands in the genre will be able to better. They are off to an enormous start and their future looks brighter than the fiery depths of hell.

Recommended Song ‘Day Zero’
