Dawn Of Retribution – The Plan To End Humanity

For Fans Of: Between The Buried And Me, All Shall Perish.

The Plan To End Humanity’ is the debut album from Geelong band Dawn Of Retribution. There are three aspects that initially grab the attention of any metal fan when they come across this album. They are the artwork (which is one of the best covers in Australian metal history), the album name and the band name (so much brutality they can’t be ignored). But all that means nothing if the music is awful.

Ascension Of The Shadow’ ensures the listener knows exactly what they are in store for, heavy, fast, technical metal music. The dual onslaught of guitarists Bennett Dunstan and Chris McEwin on tracks ‘Day Zero’ and  ‘Minutes Of The Millennia’ has the listener captivated and unable to control their head from banging around. Dawn Of Retribution have self produced this, their debut effort, which just shows how much self-belief and guts they already have. One of the best qualities of this album is that the band was able to capture their raw sound in the studio, something that a lot of bands strive for but never accomplish. This is a band that other musicians should be taking notes from. ‘The Plan To End Humanity’ does not stop its annihilation until the very last second of the last song. There is something for every metal fan on this album. Australian metal just keeps getting better and this album is proof.

Dawn Of Retribution are able to hold their guitars, drum sticks, bass’s and microphones high after delivering a debut album that very few bands in the genre will be able to better. They are off to an enormous start and their future looks brighter than the fiery depths of hell.
