For Fans Of: Bury Your Dead, Hatebreed, Terror.
Ever wondered what bands started Australia’s hardcore scene? Well one of the bands you will have to thank for that is Day Of Contempt. During their 8-year lifespan they toured with the likes of Hatebreed, Terror, Avenged Sevenfold, Unwritten Law and even Good Charlotte. Their only full length is ‘See Through The Lies’. Which themselves and DW Norton produce and also has Forrester Savill as an Additional Engineer.
Day Of Contempt have a very distinct sound, besides they change they made for their EP ‘The Will To Live’. ‘See Through The Lies’ captures everything that you need to hear from Day Of Contempt. The album is loud, heavy, angry, vocal box destroying, head banging and feet moving hardcore music. The first song ‘One By One’ is without a doubt Australia’s No.1 hardcore song. But don’t worry the album never takes a backwards step. ‘Comatose’, ‘See Through The Lies’, ‘Tear You Down’, ‘Worst Case Scenario’, ‘From The Inside’ will make every hardcore fan drool. Even Benji Madden loves this band.
If you think you are a hardcore fan and don’t know any of Day Of Contempt’s music than you are a disgrace. They are to thank for a list of great things in the Australian heavy music scene and deserve respect from everyone. There is not much more to say other than go find and listen to one of Australia’s all time best albums, ‘See Through The Lies’.
